The osteopathic approach observes the body as a whole. For example shoulder pain could originate from the bony alignment of the shoulder itself, the muscles or fascia surrounding the joint, the fascia of the liver or the cuboid bone of your foot. We investigate tissues above, below in front of and behind your symptom area.
Our goal is to determine the cause of imbalance which may be contributing to pain or discomfort, not just the manifestations creating symptoms. In order to do this, we help the body re-establish alignment to allow healthy biomechanics to return. This style of treatment uses a gentle hands-on approach to bring about muscle re-patterning such as joint mobilizations, myofascial release, visceral treatment, muscles energy techniques, scar tissue release and cranial sacral.
